Looks like he's thrown in the towel from what I'm reading on letour.fr...dropped from the peloton 20mins into the first climb and 'showing apathy', now trying to rejoin after I'm guessing somebody told him to HTFU

I intend to use my 2005 bike one day... as a bike for trails and paths, but I might need to lend it to my uncle who unfortunately had two bikes stolen in Launceston recently.

Same route in some places to the 2003 ride which I thoroughly enjoyed. What do people think about it being one less day of riding? It's still around 540km, but nothing above 90km again...have they gone soft on us? :P

I'll be doing the bicycle technician job on the ride. Any Huffy's go on the sag (or scrap heap). Naa, perhaps I shouldn't say that; might scare too many people off! I've got to be fair. If it wasn't for Huffy, there'd be 100,000 seasonal rice pickers out of a job. I hope you're not having a ...

I'm new to this plasma giving concept...so they remove blood, do stuff, and then re-inject it? how long after is this...it sounds very similar to blood doping banned by the UCI if so :P

Big Day Out 07

Happy new year everyone,

Was anyone at the BDO (Melb in particular?). Was my first time, had a great day, wondering if anyone else was there to see it.

Melbourne Summer Cycle

Anyone else spotted this? http://www.melbournesummercycle.org.au/ A leisurely ride, but should be good, and for a worthy cause. I might even hire a recumbent for this...been looking for an excuse to try one out. I guess the ATB's claim to be the one day you can ride over the Westgate is not so true ...

With any luck I'll find McEwen or Lancaster's back wheel and have them drag me along

Speaking of which, anyone know whether the Jayco competitors be doing the 120km or just the circuit?

Is anyone else planning on doing the RailTrail route option? Penny My dad and I are doing the 120km, but depending on how we're going, we might come back via the rail trail from queenscliff. Seeing as how the start/finish line for amy's ride is the same as the one for the races, does anyone know wh...

I saw a preview of the jersey's on the GVBR, and they looked a lot better from last year; just a few more colours and sponsors brightened it up. A good price too, but seeing as we already had last years i opted not to go for a 2nd just yet.

Thanks guys, we'll probably end up going with the path on Footscray Rd and then use Whitehall Rd etc down to the circuit. I'm going to try and get the 2004 GVBR free bike ready for its first run, seems pointless to take the road bike but we'll see.

Help needed re: Route to Williamstown

My dad and I are planning to go to watch the first stage of the Jayco Bay Classic in Williamstown, and have decided to ride there this year. Dad said the punt over to Williamstown wasn't operating anymore, is he right? We'll be coming from the Yarra Trail (more specifically Docklands), and I was won...
