Re: Forum broken

Thanks Frosty. I missed the Forum and just tried again today to see if it was back up. I've also been a member for years including the one before. I don't post much, but I've always enjoyed reading other people's posts. I've learned a lot about bicycle maintenance, got information on bike trails and...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Rode the Djerring trail last Sunday. Train to Yarraman then rode back 18 km along the trail to Caulfield. An excellent ride. Quite a few cyclists and walkers on it. The trail was well marked except at Oakleigh station. Took a bit of working out where the trail went there. I wish we had more skyrails...

Re: Cycling Journal - (incl My Cycling Log details)

The reason I haven't been recording is the because I broke my right leg in the first week of October and it still hasn't healed. I hope to get back on the bike early in the New Year. Slipped on the side of a gravel road with a steep camber. Didn't have the bike with me. Good riding to all for 2018. ...

On the train on Sunday, I saw hundreds of those bikes stored in the old brick works site between Nunawading and Mitcham stations. Tom

Re: Ortlieb Panniers falling off?

Helen, I've used Ortlieb panniers for years and never have had problems providing I've put them on properly in the first place. They have stayed on when I've side-swiped posts and such, though I've lost two of the catch inserts in the process. I bought some new ones over a year ago but have'nt bothe...

Re: Cycling Journal - (incl My Cycling Log details)

Thanks for your kind thoughts. Eye is recovering nicely but I've no binocular vision at present, so won't be riding on busy roads or bike paths or undertaking any long rides. I've had a short ride round local back streets to see what it's like riding with one eye. OK as long as I take it easy. I hop...

Re: Cycling Journal - (incl My Cycling Log details)

I've been off the bike for a fortnight after an eye operation. Probably won't be back riding for another month unfortunately, so my kms will fall short this year. A pity as I had a good start. Tom

It's been there since before daylight saving finished. I assume the writer has been blinded at the corner. I've noticed riders are much more careful with their bright lights this year. Tom
