How has that resolution held up?

Mine was to "not make any New Year's resolutions at all" but that went wobbly right from the start.....

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

^^^^ Nice shot Frosty. My dear departed dad was a "Duck" driver at one stage just after WW2, used the Duck when the Army was called in to help with flooding around Port Fairy sometime in the immediate aftermath of the war, and before he was "de-mobbed". There's a grainy black and...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Yesterday: 42 km Briar Hill - Eltham - Diamond Creek (shared path) - Kangaroo Ground - Panton Hill - Hurstbridge then home via Diamond Creek etc. Pleasant mostly sunny, warm ride, light breeze, notably more traffic than in Stage 4 restrictions. Shared path via Eltham was quiet, plenty of parents, pr...

Didn't know Wagger but followed some of his story as told on the forum. Always sad to lose a fighter, condolences to family and friends. May the wind be at his back.....

^^^ (A long time ago...) The youngest brother had one of these, a gold one as I recall, regarded as pretty cool even by his older brothers: - three speed hub gears (handy on a dead flat dairy farm ;) ) - snazzy drag style shifter - fat tyres He had a number of interesting experiences on the Dragstar...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Welcome back on the bike Frosty! Yesterday's lockdown ride: 11:00 am start, 17.5 km, smidge over the allowed hour.....(Please don't let on to Dan) Beautiful crisp sunny day, virtually no breeze. Briar Hill, up and over Greenhills Road onto Diamond Creek Road and then down the Windy Mile into Diamond...

... make it something like this: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-24/south-korean-cyclists-80000-km-journey-halted-on-gold-coast/12582544 This is a great story - in more ways than one. The adopted "new family member" says it all. And if you've got to be stuck somewhere, nothing wrong w...

Re: Melbourne lockdown

If I can't ride as far as I'd like, just have to ride more often.... Last good, long ride the Saturday before Stage 4 lockdown cut in - 48 km and a tad over three hours on a sparkling late winter day. Since then, I've been exploring routes that get me out 5 km, around another 5 km or so, then back w...

Yesterday: My first ride since the Stage 4 restrictions cut in. Afternoon ride, 4.30 start - Home to St Helena, Diamond Creek Road, north onto Diamond Creek Road and down the "Windy Mile" into Diamond Creek, then the bike path to Eltham and home. A tad over the allowed hour, 17.4 km, avera...

^^^^^ Impressive geese shot, Frosty....Beware the gander.... My ride - yesterday afternoon - early evening. Forty and a bit km, 3 hours ride, can't give more detail than that, Garmin's Connect application disabled (hacked?) and still down this morning. Could be interesting.... Ride via Eltham to Dia...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Alan, Broadgully rd onto Bannons Lane is lovely ride. Plenty of nice onwards options when you get to the end of Bannon's as well. Do you get any speed wobble at speed with the trike? I know that on the roadie, 80 kph can feel quite sketchy at times! Plenty of nice onwards options when you get to th...

^^^^^^Pretty Epic ride, Matt. My ride last night: Not quite so epic as your 160 km..... Started around 4 pm for a "crisp" afternoon evening ride on the "shorter Hurstbridge loop": Via Eltham to the Diamond Creek trail, Broadgully Rd to Bannons Lane, the downhill trike heaven into...

I confess unrequited lust for Porsches. ;) Love the sound of a flat six at work, especially in the riding / driving heaven of your ride. Great photos BTW.
