the new guy

I agree

the new guy is great.

We turned up the other day as he was setting sail - he saw us and came straight back so we wouldn't have to wait the 15-20 minutes for the round trip.

I suspect the 30 people waiting on the other side were less impressed.

GVBR Bikes

I still have two of the originals Always intended taking them up to the bush block but it hasn't happened yet. I have adopted the nomenclature of my sister (veteran GVBR participant) and her gang who refer to them as: 2004 - Violet Crumble 2005 - Frog 2006 - not named yet c u on the road john

But seriously

Vendors My partner is gluten intolerant and we are both reasonably concious of the fat content of our diets (problem when you get past 40). It would be great to see food vendors offering some low fat and zero gluten options - especially at breakfast time so we can snack and hit the road early...

Coffee is also a diuretic

hey Nothing funnier than seeing dozens of cyclists clambering over trees, fences, cliffs etc. to find a quiet place for a "nature break" a couple of kms past the morning coffe stop. I'll save mine for afternoon coffee in the destination town (just before going to the pub) John c u on the r...

flat bar road bikes

For anyone considering commuting, I recommend the flat bar road bike. For those who don't know - a flat bar road bike has road bike gearing so you can get along at a reasonable clip, cruise at 30 - 40 kms with a little practice. On the other hand, hybrids have mountain bike gearing so your legs flap...
